    In 1964 a tsunami killed 11 in that town.

    Reports now that some areas had around 6 ft tides and they went inland a few 100 feet in places.

    Scanner says significant withdraw of water from the shoreline in the Crescent City area, noticed from the police helicopters.

    Now saying at least a couple 100 feet withdraw.

    This is scary stuff. My nephew is a Marine in Okinawa. My brother (his dad) has not heard from him yet. I pray that they are all well.

    Now it's working it's way down the coast. So far, it doesn't sound too bad.

    They're saying the water is on the rise there, but not saying how much .
