Page 2 of I'm planning on buying a laptop in the next few months. I've always been much more of a PC kind of guy, so I'm planning on getting a Dell or an HP more... 108 comments | 2987 Views | Go to page 1 →

I never had a Mac, but I'm happy with my PC.

Mac laptop. PC desktop computer. Those would be my choices. I don't think you can beat a Mac laptop.

PC... I hated Macs when I had to use them in the past.

If Mac's were truly better they'd have higher than 10% market share...

You left off a choice. Both.

What I am doing at the moment dictates which OS is better.

There really isn't a comparison IMO. I've used pc's all my life but when I made the switch, I didn't realize that a computer could run so fast. And my mac hasn't slowed down in 5 years.

Because most pc's are garbage compared to macs.

Disagree. The fact that it's cost-prohibitive keeps its market share down. Kind of like comparing a Mercedes or BMW to a Ford or Chevy.

I'm not one of those Mac "true-believers" either. I use both -- Macs at work, PC laptop at home.

For those that made the switch is there any issue/challenge with converting data files?

Poll results are shocking to me. This comparison is not even close. Most PC's are garbage.

This is one of the easiest tasks. Very simple process done during setup. No problems at all. MACS are so simple, user-friendly and reliable. The speed is also amazing.

I haven't had any trouble. I have an iMac and still use a PC laptop. Photos and music transfer easily from one to the other. Also Word and Excell documents can easily be sent from one device to the other.

I first I assumed that there would be a bit a of learning curb, switching from a PC to Mac but you really just plug it in and you can pretty much figure out everything without looking at a user manual. Setting up email, printers, etc. is a breeze.
