    Florence’s Ted Bushelman dies suddenly

Florence City Councilman Ted Bushelman died suddenly Sunday at the age of 75. He was a prominent figure in the community and the longtime spokesman for the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport until his retirement in 2008.

Florence City Councilman Ted Bushelman, the former spokesman for the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, died Sunday of an apparent heart attack.

Florence Mayor Diane Whalen confirmed Sunday evening that her longtime friend and colleague had died.

“This is a huge loss not only for Florence and Boone County, but for all of Kentucky, Whalen said. “He is an institution in this community.”

Rest in peace to a great, great man. Ted did a lot for me early in my career, and he was always just a blast to be around...

He was always a great representative and promoter for our airport, in it's earliest days of growth. That's how I'll always remember him.

Ted always treated me well and he worked hard as an elected official and in many community activities.

I remember Ted as being very kind to my young kids during a Florence parade in which he was the Grand Master.

Had the pleasure of knowing Ted when he would do work for the Florence Freedom. Great guy and will be missed.

Very nice man. I had the opportunity to work with him while on the Airport Board. The ultimate professional that loved to entertain and put on a show. RIP Ted. Condolensces to his family.
