Derby Trail, Keeneland and other Horse Racing Discussion

It's that time of year again! Some huge Derby preps already in the books and more to come in the next couple of weeks. With Keeneland opening Friday, it is a very exciting time for Horse Racing in the Bluegrass.

Dialed In ran huge in the Florida Derby today and looks to be one of the leading contenders for the KY Derby. Uncle Mo runs next week for the second time as a 3 year old and will face a better field than in his previous race.

Where my Horse Racing fans at?!

We might be going to Keeneland on Saturday, should be a great time.

I'm going Saturday with a large group of friends. We tailgate like it's a football game. It's more of a social event than the horse racing for us. Can't wait!

Keeneland, the best kept secret in the USA. What a great place.

We are taking a big group to Keeneland Saturday, and are already shopping for the tailgate party. Gotta get there early for good seats.

We bet the Florida Derby yesterday at Turfway. I did not do so well. Hoping for better luck next week!

Saved some money on the Florida Derby yesterday-really liked Soldat but didn't make it to Turfway. Can't wait for Keeneland Friday. IMO, this first week of April is one of the best times for sports. Reds opening Day, Final 4 weekend, and Keeneland opens.

I actually like Keeneland better in the fall, but go both seasons regardless.

Absolutely. As a Horse Racing fan, it is the best of both worlds though. Great social event + great horse racing. I've been 9 out of the last 10 weekends going back a few meets

As far as my Derby selections, right now they would be:
    1. Uncle Mo
    2. Dialed In
    3. To Honor and Serve

I am interested in seeing how Uncle Mo runs this week, but I think he will be tough to beat at CD.
Dialed In was very impressive yesterday for sure!
I still think To Honor and Serve has yet to run his best race.

I like The Factor, has a cool triple crown ring to it! I have a future exacta wager of Uncle Mo and The Factor at 3-1 / 22-1.

If you saw Premier Pegasus' big move in the San Felipe, then you have to be impressed. I will have a very close eye on him in the SA Derby this weekend while at Keeneland. Major player.

It looks like there is a good chance for rain so we might not be going after all.

Premier Pegasus is a serious threat.

To Honor and Serve has ran a distanct 3rd in his last two outings. He was my favorite going into the year but he certainly looks like a second tier contender right now.

The Factor looked crazy impressive in the Rebel a few weeks ago. Many thought he was just a speed horse but he proved in that race that he can run over a mile. It will be interesting to see him in the Arkansas Derby in a couple weeks.
