@nWo When do you think you will have a good feel for what's headed our way (snow wise) for this coming Thurs-Sunday?
Should start getting a good read around Tuesday evening

    Monday evening update

For now, the timing is what is really in doubt for me. Both the Canadian and GFS have been showing the possibility of two systems passing through Kentucky later this week. The latest modeling data I've seen is showing now these two possible systems merging into one. Now let me caution. This doesn't mean an enormous amount of snow accumulation is heading our way. Just that as I expected the models are starting to get a good hold on the situation as we get closer. This isn't unexpected. So that is why I say don't get too caught up in snow accumulations this far away from an event. I only post those previous maps as reference only and they are not official forecasts. My confidence is growing on accumulating snow for the beginning of February but exactly when I'm still unsure at this time.

All I'm going to say about possible accumulation totals until I'm sure is that both models as of now are in real good agreement about how much. Will this trend continue? Will it be late in the week or late in the weekend? Keep checking back for updates.

    Wednesday morning update

There is growing evidence that most of Kentucky will receive some accumulating snow this weekend. The modeling data has been pretty consistent over the last few runs on getting snow. There is just still some difference in the amounts. For now lets just concentrate on the GFS. It has been showing from late Saturday night until Monday snow coming through Kentucky. Here is the simulated radar.

Now here is what the GFS is showing for accumulations through Monday morning as the snow exits EKY.

But that's not all folks! Remember I said we had a couple more shots of snow after this one? Well chance for more accumulating snow Tuesday evening through Friday. Keep checking back for updates as it looks like the weather could get quite interesting next week.
