Severe Weather possible later todayThe potential is there for the formation of strong to severe storm later today for parts of Kentucky. The Storm Prediction Center has some of Kentucky in a Marginal Risk Area for severe storms.
The conditions look to be favorable for scattered supercell storm development that could produce damaging winds and hail. While the tornado threat is low at the moment a weak tornado or two can't be completely ruled out. As for the timing the storms look to form in Kentucky after 5 pm EDT with the best time for the storms between 6-8 pm EDT.
The time period for this simulated radar is 5 pm Tuesday to 7 am EDT Wednesday morning.
Potential Atmospheric energy for the formation of severe storms.
I'll update around midday if possible. I surely will by late afternoon. Take care and be weather aware later today.Advertisement

May 15, 18, 05:05 PM #3Looks like most if any of the storms will hold off until around 11 pm. Those that may try to fire up look to be mainly in the Lexington area. Damaging winds and hail look to be the main threats under the stronger storms.
