Next Severe Weather ChanceLooks like the next chance for severe weather will be to end next week.
While the details with respect to severe risk are therefore difficult to highlight this far in advance, the Storm Prediction Center is maintaining a 15% risk area. Given the strength of the upper system which will provide conditions favorable for severe storms to develop. Keep checking back for updates as we get closer to the end of the week.Advertisement

Monday evening updateSome could see some severe weather on Thursday. For now, it looks like the western part of Kentucky will be under the gun.
Ahead of a deepening low, a cold front will move across the Mississippi River on Thursday. Widespread convection and cloud cover accompanying the system should hinder heating/destabilization in some areas. However strong flow in the aloft should compensate somewhat permitting locally strong to severe storms to occur, along with an afternoon peak in severe weather potential.
The following radar shows the possible showers and storm on Thursday. After some precipitation early during the day, there may be a slight break during the early afternoon hours. Late afternoon is when the severe weather potential could occur. The time period is from 10 am EST Thursday to 1 am EST Friday morning.
I will continue updates as we get closer.
