.Strong high pressure will allow high temperatures to reach the
mid 90s. These hot temperatures combined with high humidity will
lead to heat index values peaking around 105 degrees for several
hours tomorrow afternoon.

The National Weather Service in Louisville has issued a Heat
Advisory, which is in effect from noon EDT /11 AM CDT/ to 8 PM
EDT /7 PM CDT/ Saturday.
* TEMPERATURE...Temperatures in the mid 90s combined with high
humidity will create peak heat index values around 105 degrees
* IMPACTS...The combination of heat and humidity will lead to an
increased risk of heat-related stress and illness. The very
young, the elderly, those without air conditioning, and those
participating in strenuous outdoor activities will be the most
susceptible. Also, car interiors can reach lethal temperatures
in a matter of minutes.
A Heat Advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity
will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are
possible. Drink plenty of fluids...stay in an air-conditioned
room...stay out of the sun...and check up on relatives and

possible...reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear lightweight and lose fitting clothing when possible
