Uh-oh! Toothpick, if you and Mrs. PurpleHaze get tangled up on the new Outdoors Forum, I'll never be able to get a word in edgewise!! She's a woman from the mountains of WA State, and her father is full-blooded Choctaw, so she's real handy with hunting and fishing implements! Man, could she tell you some stories! I've been inundated with many stories of Steelhead and Salmon fishing and bear hunting! Then there are those clear mountain streams with ice-cold water that outdoors people dream of...she's been there, done that...many times over!!

Have you ever been face-to-face with a real moose? ...she has!! Her father had to go ahead and nail the moose before he nailed her! It wasn't moose hunting season, so her father got fined $100, but at least Mrs. PurpleHaze stayed alive to crawl into my head (counselor...behavior scientist!!)!! He got off easy with the fine, probably because she was ten years old and she was telling the judge how cool it was that her father defended her!!

    Wow! PH
that must have been a moment

I just stick to the waterfowl with a little dove hunting on opening day only and about once every 5 years I will deer hunt for a day or two til I realize that I get bored sick sitting by myself in a tree waiting. Now this ducking is an entirely different beast, nothing like a warm blind with breakfast served and a TV in the rear so that I never miss a good football game. I will have to take my laptop this year and logon to BGP, well if I get somthing that will let it run through a cell phone that is.

On the outdoor topic I am also, as some of you know, a diehard boater and there is no better place in the world to boat than the western water lands of W KY. KY and Barkley Lakes are the best boating lakes in the country, they are 2nd to none.

Ahhhhh HS football, ducks and boats... Life is Good
