    Pistol scopes

I've got a Ruger Mark II .22 and I'm in the process of getting one of the Taurus Tracker .17HMP revolvers.

I'm thinking about getting a pistol scope to put on the ruger for now and maybe move over to the taurus when I get it.

I've never shot a pistol with a scope on it, or even held one for that matter.

Do any of you have scopred handguns and do you like them or not?

If you do, what kind of scope do you have/prefer?

Shooting freehand , only a 2X, with extended eye relief. My favorite is Leupold.

Now, Now, Leupold isn't that expensive. They are worth the money.
How I like it depends on alot of things. I prefer the scope mounted over top of the cylinder on a revolver. Simply because of weight. If it's over the barrel, you're talking "quick target acquisition" because the shakes set in quick. However on some wheelguns putting it over the cylinder does'nt leave much room to pull back the hammer to shoot in single action.
On autoloaders most scope mounts attach to the side of the frame, and some mounts just plain ole mess up the feel of the gun.
If you can't sight in a scope off a sandbag or some sort of stand, it can get really tough to zero a scope in.
