    Favorite type of camp fire

I usually build a log cabin fire with an A frame or Teepee fire in side to get it going if I am going to be tending a fire to cook on or tend all night to keep warm. I like a small lean too fire for a quick stop and cook or warm up on a trail, get because of the quick clean up and maxium effect with the lest amount of wood.

Anyone else ever wonder why the best fire designs are also the same designs we use as dwellings?

I like the teepee setup. It's very easy to get going. The log cabin tends to last longer, though. As far as cooking goes... I don't really do it much anymore since I got my backpacking stove. Sad to say, but cooking by fire is somewhat of a lost art anymore.
