There are quite a few on and around Lake Cumberland....I have seen several and I know where a huge aerie(nest) is... If you are interested in eagles call Southwestern High School.... They have an amazing Raptor re-hab program at the school...Probably the only one of its kind in the country,,,,They take in sick and injured birds,,, care for them,,, and if they are able, return them to the wild.....They have many raptors to care for,,, eagles , owls, hawks, falcons,etc......You can view them at the school any time..............

It wasn't recent but, while the GolfRev and I were in Murry in Nov of 2001 we were staying at a resort style place on one of the lakes. One morning while standing on the front deck looking through a wooded area at a scene that would be on a postcard, out of the blue came an eagle making pass after pass over water right infront of us. It was amazing. I ran quickly up to the van to get a small set of binoculars, when I got back I had just enough time to watch him make a couple more passes before he swooped down into the water and grabbed a fish. It was so close I could make out the scales on the fish. It was one of the most AWESOME things I have ever seen. AMAZING!!!! It literally took my breath away.

    Arkansas!!

I went camping in Dec in the Buffalo River Region and camped next to a creek. The second morning we were at the campground a eagle came down the creek and flew down by the water and picked up a fish.

It was one of the greatest things I have ever seen camping!!!
