May 31, 16, 12:45 AM #17Anyone heard about Hacksaw Ridge? It's a WWII film being directed by Mel Gibson. Due out around Thanksgiving. Per Wikipedia:
The film is based on the true story about US Army medic Desmond T. Doss, a conscientious objector who refused to bear arms, yet was awarded the Medal of Honor by President Harry S. Truman for single-handedly saving the lives of over 75 of his comrades while under constant enemy fire during the brutal Battle of Okinawa in World War II.

I haven't been excited about a movie since November. "Sully" is a must-watch for me. Comes out September 9.

Marauders opens July 1. Filmed in Cincinnati. Scenes filmed in my work building (Dixie Terminal). My son is an extra (seen at the 1:00 mark of the trailer in a security line).

Jul 1, 16, 11:41 AM #27Good thing @lawildcat wasn't an extra and the director told her that. No telling what "do what comes natural" would have been followed by.

We saw Tarzan last night, much better than my expectations which were admittedly low. I had no idea that Sam L Jackson, Margot Robbie or the Bounty Hunter from Django were in the movie. If box office is good I'd expect a follow up movie.
Robbie was excellent as Jane, was not a typical damsel in distress. Jackson looked younger than he's looked in any movie in years. Tarzan while hitting all of the notes you'd expect, (the yell, swinging on vines, communicating with animal) never felt contrived.
