Hard to go wrong with BB King.
Since BB King is so under the radar.

I'm willing to somewhat let Mark Knopfler pass, because he's not terribly well-known by name.

My apologies, I simply went with favorite guitarists....the "don't know by name" part alluded me.

    Sorry.

My favorite super-talented guy playing right now: Tim Collis of This Town Needs Guns

They're not particularly well known so there aren't many videos of him. That's the best I could do for now.

If you're into blues you've heard of him, if not you probably haven't.

    The great Joe Bonamassa.

I happened by accident, and a whim on this band at Bogarts in Cincinnati in 2006 and was mesmerized and blown away. I had no idea who I was going to see, and walked away with my head spinning.

Turns out that Ozric Tentacles are an instrumental space rock band from Somerset, England that's been together since 1983, and have put out numerous mind blowing releases, and still do.

Ed Wynne has been the constant member since the beginning, and the driving force of the band.

This is who popped in my head first but not sure where he falls in the not well know category.

Michael Hedges was one of those Windham Hill guys. Much of their stuff was fairly "soulless", but this guy could play.

Not really an unknown but I'm really looking forward to seeing Kenny Wayne Shepherd open for Van Halen at Riverbend in a few months.
