    Horror/thriller.

It is worth the watch. Not great, but not bad. Different is the best way to describe it.

The book was in the horror genre & that's how it was described to me by others. It definitely has some of that, but it's also a lot of thriller & drama.

Very comparable to some of M. Night Shyamalan's work. The Happening in particular, but way better than that.

I think it's a stretch to call it horror...more of a suspense / horror light.

On the Today Show this morning they said Netflix has had Bird Box downloaded 45,000,000 times. Wow! Huge hit.

Also noted there are many people doing their own "Bird Box Challenges" where they blindfold themselves and attempt to perform tasks. No major injuries. Yet.

Is it the same message as The Happening? That'll decide if I watch or not.

I didn't think it was the same.

I thought it was good...and it definitely keeps you on edge for the entire movie.

On a related note, I really liked the first 2/3rds of "Quiet Place" but thought the last 1/3rd was super corny.
