I attended Mass on Wednesday with a particular resolution already in mind. First, Mass at St Elizabeth's is so awesome. I am in love with the architecture there, and I love the services and atmosphere there. Second, Father's homily focused on God calling us to be ambassadors of Christ. So, unbeknownst to me, my prearranged resolution fit right in with what he was saying. I came away inspired to do more though. I'm looking forward to keeping my resolutions this season and beyond.

    Fish fry tonight!

Not scheduled to work St. Mary's tonight, but got a call to help out. Already scheduled something else so not sure if we can help out of not. Were discussing St. Joe camp springs as well.

Not sure where we're going to go tonight. Letting the wife decide.

My wife is Catholic and we raised our daughters as Catholics but I never converted. I usually go to Catholic Mass with my wife but am "officially" still a protestant I guess. Anyway, I am giving up chocolate and soft drinks for Lent more to be disciplined than for the religious aspect. Going to try giving up eating after 8pm which will be HARD for me. So far so good two days in!

No matter the problem, don't nurse it, don't curse it, don't rehearse it, but to God disperse it and trust in Him to reverse it.

As I do every year.... Daily Rosary. I can give 15 minutes of my day to God. Even when it's a challenge I'll be sure to make it up.

Sweets for me. No donuts. No cakes. No candy bars. Nothing. I work right by a Busken's and live by a Servatti's. Giving up donuts will be a bear.

Told my kids to use these filters always, but especially now during Lent:
    Is it true?
    Is it kind?
    Is it necessary?

During Lent I've been doing daily devotions. I found this prayer which I found & thought I would share.

God of us all, we thank you that you place us in community,
to enable and encourage each other, to share and grow together.
Help those of us who are usually silent or silenced, to speak and be heard.
Help those of us who are always heard,
to learn to make space for others to have voice.
Help us all to be people who listen with our hearts,
value each other's differences, and work together
as we listen to your word and your wisdom.
Please broaden our minds and hearts to be in tune with yours,
that we may see as you see, and love as you love.
    Help us to recognise that,
in enabling and encouraging each other with your kindness,
our communities, and each of us in them, may grow and flourish. Amen.

    How did everyone fare?

I was surprised at how easy it was. I never once thought "well just this one time." May have to step it up next year. Soft drinks? WOW. Don't know.

When does Lent end? I've heard numerous answers over the years.
