Bac2369
Do you think we have the best two teams in class 2A? Why do you think these two are the best? If not who and why?
Footballmom2
Yes, I think the two best teams are playing for the title. LCA was right there with them but because they share the district with Somerset, it could have just as easily been LCA in there as well. Jumper_Dad
Yes. Only discussion would possibly be LCA. They defeated Somerset at home by 1 point in the regular season, then lost at home by 2 in the playoffs.
Squirrel
I say yes. Now by this time next week I'll be able to tell you for sure or not. If Somerset beats Mayfield by 2 TDs then I would obviously say both LCA and Somerset were a little bit ahead of Mayfield. All 3 of those teams were obviously way ahead of the rest of the pack all year long.
ATLCat
No matter the playoff scenario this would have been the State Finals. LCA may end up being the second toughest team, maybe not, but unless you seeded the entire state this is the matchup that would have happened since Somerset and LCA were destined to meet again. Footballnerd
If Somerset beats Mayfield, they would of beat all top four teams already having wins over LCA, Beechwood, and Breathitt. We got the best two teams though I feel Mayfield, Somerset, and LCA are 50/50/50. Lol
okie1
Not necessarily. If KY didn't play intra district the first 2 rounds, but continued with the RPI in rounds 3/4, teams from the same district could get to the finals before playing each other in the playoffs. It could have happened this year with LCA and Somerset with the way they were seeded had KY played sister districts. No matter the playoff scenario this would have been the State Finals. LCA may end up being the second toughest team, maybe not, but unless you seeded the entire state this is the matchup that would have happened since Somerset and LCA were destined to meet again. 9068
Probably do. And it doesn't matter what we think. They earned their spots!
