The Covington Holy Cross Indians snap a 23 game 2 year losing streak tonight in defeating the Bellevue Tigers 30-12. The last Holy Cross victory prior to tonight was in the quarter finals of the 2016 KHSAA 2A playoffs.

 

HC was lead by WR Brandon McClendon who 6 receptions for 148 yards and 2 TDs. QB Hayden Spencer was 10-21 for 188 passing yards 2 TDs 2 INTs (that were both returned for touchdowns). Freshman Ja'Marion Goodson made a fine debut rushing with 18 carries for 65 yards.

 

For the Tigers, WR Gunner Barnes shows why he is one of the NKY players to watch by having 7 receptions for 91 yards. QB Aaron Atkins was 10-33 for 116 passing yards, but with 3 INTs.

 

Holy Cross will stay at home to play Walton-Verona next Friday night 8/30. Bellevue, next week, will be at home to play Dayton.
