Jumpman4004
Very interesting signing. Browns are trying to surround Mayfield with some weapons. I do not blame them for trying to help out their young QB/offense. I like the direction the Browns are going. Should be a fun team to watch in the future. Kareem Hunt signs with Browns
DragonFire
It’s a PR hit, but there’s no doubt that there is nearly limitless upside to the signing if he comes back from his issues.

They drafted Baker, they aren't worried about a PR hit.
theguru
I think it is a great move and I wanted the Bengals to sign him immediately after he was cut by KC. Just win Baby!
UKMustangFan
Figured someone would sign him. Will be interesting to see how many games he ends up having to sit.

theguru
Bold strategy full on cheering for a woman beater.... I don't look at it that way. I want the Bengals to win, Hunt was a FA, the NFL says he is eligible to participate, I want the Bengals to win, end of story.
nkypete
Does this make the Browns the favorites for the division next year?

00Rocket28
Bold strategy full on cheering for a woman beater.... Unless there was more than that video, I don’t think the phrase woman beater is appropriate. Not defending what he did, but that was not a beating. futurecoach
Does this make the Browns the favorites for the division next year? There is a good chance he will miss a lot of the season still because of suspension.
futurecoach
They drafted Baker, they aren't worried about a PR hit. What PR hit have they taken by taking Mayfield? Seems like he has brought excitement and good attention to the Browns not bad.
oldgrappler
They signed Hunt for $1 million for one year (depending on how many games he is suspended. After that year, he is a restricted free agent, meaning Cleveland controls his rights after that. This was strictly a business decision. They got a pro bowl caliber RB for 1 million dollars. Dorsey was the guy who brought him to KC. He did a lot of vetting of Hunt in that process and must feel like they can get enough good things in place around him to help him. Dorsey made a statement that said aside from his study of him for the 2016 draft they have since done due diligence with clinical professionals, etc. to "have a better understanding of the person he is today and whether it was prudent to sign him." There you have it. They got him cheap, he already has a relationship with Dorsey, and they think he can straighten up. If he doesn't make it back to the roster per the NFL requirements, they lose nothing on him (meaning he doesn't get paid). So, it is strictly a business deal with lots of upside and no down side for the Browns, in strictly football terms. Does this make the Browns the favorites in the division? They are my favorites. But Baltimore made it to the playoffs in 2018 and Pittsburgh just missed. So, I think most football people would say the Browns have to prove it by beating those two teams. I do know they have an incredibly dynamic backfield with Baker Mayfield, Nick Chubb, Kareem Hunt, and Duke Johnson. Wow! From a purely football perspective, Cleveland's prospects for turning into a winner are legit. However, I am not okay with this signing. He has a lot to prove off the field, in my mind
