Henry Clay 52 Trinity 50

Recommended Posts

The Henry Clay Blue Devil basketball team played an outstanding game to get the upset over the Trinity Shamrocks.

Surprisingly, their leading scorer, Marquez Warrick (23 points per game), was held in check by Trinity. Senior guard, Keaston Brown, and senior forward, Harris Hawkins, had big games for the Blue Devils.

Henry Clay is in the same district and region as Scott County, so they would probably have to pull off another big upset to get to Rupp Arena.

Big win!

Yes, David Johnson did play, However, without question it was the worst game I have ever saw him play, enough said. Henry Clay is a solid team that plays hard. Very competitive game.

Maybe an underpar game at the offensive end, but he played some fantastic man-to-man defense on Henry Clay scoring machine Marquez Warrick. He averages over 23 points per game and had just 10.

Johnson is a very unselfish player in the Trinity team concept, but was probably not assertive enough at the offensive end. Man he is a good looking athlete.

Trinity plays Madison Central next. I obviously don't know for sure, but T's schedule has to be one of the toughest in the state.

One thing about teams like Trinity and teams that are traditionally toward the top of the 11th region is they have a hard time getting people outside their region to play them. What you end up with is a schedule like Trinity. By the end of the season they will have played Scott County, Henry Clay, Madison Central, Lexington Catholic, LCA (twice), Lafayette, and Woodford County all from the 11th region.

Good point.

Also on Trinity's schedule are Collins (twice), Male (twice), Ballard, Seneca (twice), St. X, Waggener (twice) and some good out-of-state opponents.

Largest male populated school in the state. Poor guys.

That SHOULD be who they are playing.

I stand corrected. My apologies.

SECOND largest male populated school in the state. Poor guys.

Pretty sure he wasn't looking for sympathy when he mentioned T probably plays one of the toughest schedules in the state...
