Open Jobs/Filled Jobs 2018-2019

Recommended Posts

This thread will be used for tracking all open coaching jobs, and all of those jobs as they are filled. If anyone has information on a new job coming open, any updates on an ongoing coaching search, or finds out a job has been filled, please feel free to start a new thread on the opening/filled position. If there is a thread already out there, don't hesitate to add your info. We're all glad to hear it.

I will link the thread for each open/filled job to streamline your searching.

Back in November it was reported on WAVE TV that Coach Johnson had been taken off the field and reassigned. I don’t know if there are any newer developments since then.

Wave3 and the CJ both had stories about that after coach Johnson was notably absent for the Waggener playoff game (their last game of the season) against Russell. JCPS told both of them something about a "personnel issue" being reviewed with Johnson & said Johnson was reassigned to non-instructional duties while the matter was being reviewed.

There hasn't been anymore to come of this since, so my best guess is that the matter still under review, or it has been reviewed and he was put back into his classroom and back in charge of the football team. No idea which it is.

Nothing new.

Just got confirmation from Waggener that the job is not open and has not been posted.

I'm hearing now that Waggener is open. The Wildcats don't currently have any football coach listed on the KHSAA's listing of football coaches (which I'll acknowlege, is not always up to date), but Coach Johnson's Waggener account on Twitter has also now been deactivated. I believe I saw tweets/retweets from that account as recently as the week after New Years.

With Moore promoting offensive coordinator Tombe Kose to head coach, that finishes off the football head coaching changes in Kentucky for the year. 41 teams have new coaches this year, including a new program at Great Crossing, a new program at Wolfe County, and a resurrected program at Trimble County.

Good luck to everyone in their new positions!
