Braxton Ratliff, Ashland (11-2, lost in the Region Final)

Region Final: A one sided loss in the playoffs to Johnson Central was the predictable outcome for Ratliff's last game as a Tomcat. He didn't go down without a fight, though. He accounted for 254 yards of offense and threw a touchdown strike to Andy Layne, but was also picked off twice.

Season to date: 125 of 200 for 2,047 yards and 21 TDs with 7 ints. ; 110 rushes for 809 yards and 7 TDs

Chase Estep, Corbin (12-1, advanced to the 3A Semi-Finals)

Regional Final: The first time Corbin met Bell County this season, Estep only attempted six passes, completing them all for just 56 yards. A balanced running game won the day on October 12th. This time around, a more balanced offense (featuring a more involved Estep) dusted off the Bobcats. Estep threw for 182 yards and two scores, as well as chipping in 42 yards on the ground.

Season to date: 156 of 230 for 2,772 yards with 38 TDs and 4 ints. ; 76 rushes for 436 yards and 8 TDs

Stock:

Cameron Jones, Frederick Douglass (11-1, lost in the Second Round)

Season Complete

Final Statistics: 145 of 199 for 2,714 yards and 31 TDs with 5 ints.

Wiley Cain, Pulaski County (11-2, advanced to the 5A Semi-Finals)

Regional Final: Knee deep in the mud and muck of his own home field, Cain led Pulaski County to its second win over archrival Southwestern, this time for a regional championship. The playing conditions helped bring a halt to his run of huge games lately, but Cain was careful with the ball and made enough throws to help his team seal the deal.

Season to date: 308 of 467 for 3,738 yards and 33 TDs with 8 ints.

Tre’ Bass, Franklin-Simpson (12-1, advanced to the 4A Semi-Finals)

Region Final: Aside from one long run, breathing room was harder to find than usual versus a game MNH squad. Bass was kept out of the endzone for the first time this season, but did record his first interception of the year. The defending 4A champs got a scare from the Maroons before escaping with a 12-10 win.

Season to date: 188 rushes for 2,024 yards and 30 TDs ; 11 catches for 226 yards and 3 TDs

Jacob Lacey, South Warren (13-0, advanced to the 5A Semi-Finals)

Region Final: Last Friday's region final versus Owensboro was just the latest example of Lacey coming up huge in South Warren's biggest games this season. He led a defensive charge that limited a potent Owensboro offense to about half of its usual yardage production and just seven points. He was too strong, too fast, and too explosive for Owensboro's O-line to contain, sacking Will Warren three times.

Season to date: 68 tackles (31 TFL) ; 13 sacks ; 2 forced fumbles

Tanner Bowles, Glasgow (11-2, lost in the Region Final)

Athletes

Milton Wright, Christian Academy of Louisville (13-0, advanced to the 2A Semi-Finals)

Region Final: We all know what a great player Wright is. But we've been waiting for him to go off this year and completely take over a game. Unfortunately for DeSales, he chose last week to do just that. He posted season highs in both receiving (202 yards) and rushing (105 yards). All together, he accounted for 307 yards and four touchdowns in possibly the greatest game of his career.

Season to date: 65 catches for 963 yards and 12 TDs ; 27 rushes for 359 yards and 6 TDs ; 3 kick return TDs ; 34 tackles (3.5 TFL) ; 2 ints. (1 pick-six)

Logan Castleman, Beechwood (10-2, advanced to the 1A Semi-Finals)

Region Final: Castleman nearly matched Wright as far as impact goes. He ran roughshod over Frankfort's defense for a career high 258 rushing yards and five touchdowns, as the Tigers rolled over the Panthers, 49-8.

Season to date: 153 carries for 1,342 yards and 23 TDs ; 13 catches for 110 yards and 3 TDs ; 3 ints. (2 returned for TDs)

Drew Sawyers, Southwestern (10-3, lost in the Region Final)

Region Final: Sawyers picked a bad night to have his first three interception game as a quarterback. The last of those three picks came in the final minute inside Pulaski's redzone to seal Southwestern's fate.

Season to date: 60 of 103 for 1,124 yards and 8 TDs ; 122 rushes for 1,227 and 13 TDs ; 2 interceptions (1 pick-six) ; 4 kick return TDs
