UCF and LSU pass Ohio State in the latest AP Poll.

Is there a path for UCF to get to the top 4?

UCF should be in the top 5. Wins over UC, Pitt, Temple and hopefully a big win over South Florida this week.

It would take in my opinion.

Notre Dame loss to USC, not likely.

Michigan loss to Ohio State.

Ohio State loss in B1G title, not likely.

Georgia loss to Georgia Tech or Alabama, likely.

Oklahoma loss in Big 12 title game.

Washington State loss in Pac title game.

If all of that happened it would be hard to keep an undefeated UCF out.

But they aren't, what needs to happen to get them in the playoff. They are tied for 8th in this week's AP poll, so they are getting closer.

In that scenario I think 2 loss Michigan, 2 Loss LSU, and 2 Loss Georgia, would still be ahead of UCF.

I don't think so, with season ending losses being fresh in the minds of the committee I think UCF would jump over them.

UCF blew Pitt out while ND barely beat Pitt.

You can not ignore a 23 game win streak which includes beating Auburn.

I can 100% assure you the committee pays zero attention to their win over Auburn last year.

I don’t see a potential matchup with Ohio State. Michigan is possible if Ohio State wins and misses the playoff. But if Michigan wins then it’s guaranteed that it will be Ohio State/ Wazzu in the Rose Bowl.

UCF has one win against a top 25 team. They've struggled a lot against guys that aren't in the top 25.
