Adair County 2018/2019

What does Adair County need to do to be successful in the 2018/2019 season? Please be constructive.

Going to be a down year for the Indians as they not only lost Zion Harmon but lost Dre Boyd to transfer. Senior Anthony Payne will be the guy for them this year.

The back to back district champion Indians will have to rely on Senior Anthony Payne who averaged 12 last year, as well as seniors Devin Richardson, Blaine Frazier, Jordan Simpson, and Byron Corbin. Corbin, Frazier, and Simpson all were in the Varsity rotation last season. Freshman Lucas Pooler and Sophomore Bryce Starks will compete for minutes as well. Look for Adair to play fast as normal as size isn't there.

Back district champs mean nothing... but This might be the worse talent Adair has had in some years. It will be a weak district all around.

You aren't wrong with the district being weak, and the Region is as well outside of Larue County. Marion County has an impressive team this year and should be region contenders for the next two years.

This year it might be a one horse race to the finish line. I’m pretty sure larue, central hardin, Hart co, Marion co , bardstown might be top Teams..I can’t remember last time I’ve seen those schools at top aside from bardstown and larue.

So, was the Harmon experiment a success or failure for Adair Co?

Is the Smith kid still at Taylor County? Will they be any good?

Taylor County returns 3 starters from their 2017 Region title team which are seniors Trevon Smith, Dejon Irvin, and Grant Mcqueary. Smith should be a top 3 player in the region this year as he averaged 20 last year. Irvin only played in the first game of district last year as he was out the entire year with injury. Outside shooting may be the issue for Taylor as neither Smith or Irvin are consistent from there.

So, was the Harmon experiment a success or failure for Adair Co?

I would say it was a success considering if they did not have Harmon then they would of lost to Marion County first round of district probably, and won 15 games instead of 20. Harmon also brought publicity that Adair has never really had and helped them win a second straight district title, and make semis of region for a second straight year.

I Keep seeing Dre Boyd On the Adair County roster. Is he playing for Warren Central or for Adair county this year?

Warren Central. That is not the official roster for the season. Those won't be released until after official tryouts which are October 15th

Is there any chance that we might see the Carter kid on the roster this year?

I have heard he won't be playing this season.

One new name will be Corey Thomas. He came in from Russell County last season and played baseball for Adair last year. He's a senior and is around 6'3. Shoots the three pretty well, and a good athlete.
