Spain Fires Manager On Eve Of World Cup

Not ideal timing for a manager change.

Spain has fired their manager on the night before the World Cup kicks off.

Without knowing anything about Spain soccer, this one sounds bizarre.

Julen Lopetegui has just taken the Real Madrid job, recently vacated by Zinedine Zidane after the Champions League final.

He apparently went through the entire process without speaking to the Spanish FA, which is strange. It’s stranger that the reaction of the two parties after this went public was to have this result. What a mess.

The more I read about this, the crazier it is.

THEY PLAY PORTUGAL ON FRIDAY!

In two days they’re going to walk onto a field against the reigning European champions, which features arguably the best player on the planet, and they’re going to do it with their Director of Football running the show.
