Will Justify pull off the triple crown? Does anyone have any advice on wagers for the race?

 

Here are the opening odds/post positions

2 — Free Drop Billy (Robby Albarado; Dale Romans; 30-1)

 

3 — Bravazo (Luis Saez; D. Wayne Lukas; 8-1)

 

4 — Hofburg (Irad Ortiz; William I. Mott; 9-2)

 

5 — Restoring Hope (Florent Geroux; Bob Baffert; 30-1)

 

6 — Gronkowski (Jose Ortiz; Chad Brown; 12-1)

 

7 — Tenfold (Ricardo Santana Jr.; Steven Asmussen; 12-1)

 

8 — Vino Rosso (John R. Velazquez; Todd Pletcher; 8-1)

 

9 — Noble Indy (Javier Castellano; Todd Pletcher; 30-1)

 

10 — Blended Citizen (Kyle Frey; Doug O'Neill; 15-1)

First of all, no he will not win the race IMO. Racing as much as he has in the last 3 or so months will take its toll.

 

I like Vino Rosso and Blended Citizen. Also give a chance to Hofburg.

 

A friend of mine and I were liking Blended Citizen, so that should eliminate that horse. LOL

It was weird in that he went off to that fast sub-24 first quarter, and after he slowed the pace, nobody seemed interested in making him work harder for it.

 

Very impressive nonetheless. Once he slowed down the pace and nobody bit for the lead, he had plenty of gas in the tank.

And The handicappers on this thread missed how effortless Justify ran in the previous races. This was his best run yet.

 

I said he didnt run full speed at the derby, but he had to run harder in the Preakness. I didnt think he would do it but he did, awesome thing to witness.
