Is Ballard grad Ronnie Baker the world’s fastest man?

Recommended Posts

Ronnie Baker is having a good week. The Ballard and TCU alumnus ran a 2018 world leading 9.93 to win the IAAF Diamond League meet in Rome yesterday. Last Saturday he also won a Diamond League race at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Oregon. It’s still early in the international season and the Jamaicans haven’t shown much this year. But with Usain Bolt’s retirement and Justin Gatlin in decline, Ronnie will be in the mix to lay claim to be the world’s top sprint star this year.

Baker has been one of the world’s top 60 meter sprinters indoors for a few years. He’s really improved his top end and finishing speed this season, as seen in this highlight -

He’s keeping fast company too. The relay team he was a part of in Knoxville last month has set out to break the American record this year. http://bluegrasspreps.com/other-professional-sports/ronnie-baker-is-364823.html

Good luck Ronnie!
