March 11-12,2018 Storm Report

This is a report on the snowfall totals from the NWS-Louisville office. This just covers the area that the office cover.

We had a solid 2 inches in the Ashland area, probably 3+ as you headed south. Paved surfaces remained warm enough to prevent the snow from sticking, which resulted in a winter wonderland without the travel issues.

March is drunk and needs to go home.

Had about 3 in Lawrenceburg/Frankfort area. Heard reports today that the south side of Lexington got 10 inches.

We got 8.5 inches in Mercer County according to my measurements. Some people reported 10 inches.

Power is out at the CWF household. Estimate is 8pm today for restored power. Fortunately we are prepared.

Ventless gas fireplaces for heat, and 6500 watt generator (~ 35 amps) to run the house. Have to shut off pretty much everything except the water heater for morning showers, but outside of that you'd never really know anything was down.

- well except for the loud generator.
