PurplePride92
I’m looking for a nice family vacation spot in Florida. Somewhat secluded or at least out of the crosshairs of Destin/Gulf Shores/Panama City Beach type of areas. Reasonably priced and preferably as close to the beach as possible. Any suggestions? sweet16
St. Augustine? I like it there. A lot of history and just a pretty cool city.
Irish Cat
Siesta Key. Very laid back beach. Probably the nicest beach that I have been to.
jahearme
We are going to give the Tampa/St. Pete/Clearwater area a try this summer. Busch Gardens, Florida Aquarium are on the to-do list. Looking forward to it.

JDEaston
The Naples area is great. I haven't been in 10 years or so but it's not commercialized like other parts of the state, at least it wasn't 10 years ago.
GrantNKY
I’ll 2nd the St Augustine suggestion. I’m honestly not sure about the price so throwing that aside, it’s a really cool place, laid back, historic, and a great dowtown area. It’s not your typical beach vacation. UK#1fanisback
South of Orlando is best. Farther south warmer the water.
jvdfc
Madeira Beach near St. Pete. Not near as expensive as some others either.
Collar7
I’ve been all over Florida and there are only three places I will go. In order of my favorites: 1. Seaside Florida - relatively short drive. Safe. Clean. Classy. 2. Siesta Key - love the sand that never gets hot for the little kids. Great restaurants. Clean. Classy. 3. Marco Island - all the benefits of the places above... just a tad bit too far. However, if you’re going in the winter, you’re pretty much guaranteed to have warm enough weather. I’ve always been more of a Carolina or Gulf Shores person but those three places in Florida are nice.
