newarkcatholicfan
This one played out much like most loses for the Buckeyes suffered last season. Walks and errors. And error on a easy hit ball to 2nd baseman Emily Clark(Prospect, Ohio) her 2nd on the young season and then two walks by starting pitcher Shelby McCombs(Newark, Ohio) all with the Buckeyes leading 2-0 in the bottom of the sixth, directly led to a grand slam by Timberlyn Shurbutt(Alexandria, Ala.)and put N.C.State(4-2) up 4-2. The Buckeyes would tie it up on a two run bomb by Freshman,Niki Carver(Gainesville, Ga) The long ball had given the Buckeyes a 2-0 lead. The Bomb was by Lilli Piper(Akron,Ohio) The Wolfpack scored in the bottom of the eighth on a controversial call with a runner coming in from third base, the Buckeyes applied the tag at home for the out. However, the umpires met to discuss the play and cited OSU for obstruction, thus awarding N.C. State the run.
