Oldbird
Highlands boys team won a regional title for the first time since 1994, beating Cov Cath. 508-381. Cov. Cath had won 19 straight with Scott being last team to beat them. Although we believed this day was on the horizon, it came one year before we really expected it. Overall it was a pretty special day for Birds. Event winners for Highlands: 50 and 100 Free: Garrison Herfel 200 Free: Brendan Conley 200 Free and 400 Free Relays won as well. rjal
CCH did not seem as deep as in the past. Highlands evan had a swimmer who had dove before compete in diving to get more points. It was quite impressive.
Colonels_Wear_Blue
CCH did not seem as deep as in the past. Cov Cath's swim team has seen a little bit of a decline in the last 2-3 years as far as the number of total swimmers goes. However, that doesn't take away at all from Highlands winning the region. rjal
Not trying to take away from highlands at all. They were very impressive and had two and three boys in several finals. A wall on Blue caps with big white H’s. It wasn’t definitely their day. Edited February 12, 2018 by rjal Spelling

Oldbird
Cov Cath's swim team has seen a little bit of a decline in the last 2-3 years as far as the number of total swimmers goes. However, that doesn't take away at all from Highlands winning the region. Cov. Cath. has graduated some very talented swimmers the past few years, as well as, additional solid swimmers who provided depth. Their freshman and sophomore classes have both been weak. They will return their top 2 swimmers (both juniors), but they lose three other kids who all scored quite a few points.
TAC
Did Cov.Cath recently change coaches?
Oldbird
Did Cov.Cath recently change coaches? Richard Dickman coached the team for sometime, then they switched to Chris Goodpaster (sp.), but I think he only did it for a year or two at most. Last couple of years Scott Venefron (sp.) has been the coach.
