NCAA Top 16 Seeds as of 02-11-18

CBS just had their head of the selection committee and he listed the top 16 seeds as of today.

Here they are listed by teams and in () is the the teams actual ranking of the top 68:

South:

1) Virginia (1)

2) Cincinnati (8) 3) Texas Tech.(10)

4) Tennessee (13)

East:

1) Villanova (2)

2) Duke (7)

3) Texas Tech. (10)

4) Ohio State (14)

West:

1) Purdue (4)

2) Kansas (6)

3) North Carolina (12)

4) Arizona (15)

Midwest:

1) Xavier (3)

2) Auburn (5)

3) Clemson (9)

4) Oklahoma (16)

Other area teams and just their projected regions and seeds:

All 3 were in the south: Kentucky (7),Louisville (9), NKU (16)

Some of these seeds are ridiculous but it's about like football playoff standings

Ohio State behind UNC is a joke. I know I’m biased but that’s just silly. I know these rankings mean nothing, but a team with 5 losses vs 7 and 2 top 5 wins vs 1. What possible metrics could they be using? :lol2:

Also am I crazy or did Michigan State not beat Purdue yesterday?

Kansas a two seed ahead of Michigan State a 3 seed? This whole system makes zero sense? Why even release these rankings if you are just going to throw them together with zero thought involved?

NKU as a 16 seed would be fun to watch. Don’t think they could beat any of those 1 seeds but they could put a scare into them.

You’ve got Texas Tech in there twice. I didnt watch the show but I assume you’ve got one of those switch for Michigan State?

I'm sorry had to rearrange it and missed that the #3 in the south should have been Michigan State.

No matter what I'm hoping to be able to root for NKU this year. I still think it was an asinine decision to have them play UK in round 1.
