Russell shot 61% from the field for the game.

Impressive performance by the Lady Devils. From the middle of the 2nd period to the middle of the 3rd period, West Carter played Russell fairly even. Outside of that, it was one way traffic. Lakie Sanders and Madison Darnell had big games for Russell. Really, everyone seemed to play well for the home team tonight.

Despite their 17-3 record, the Lady Comets were relatively untested within the 16th Region prior to tonight. They had yet to face any of the region's top teams (Boyd County, Ashland, Russell). Tonight showed that they might not be ready for primetime, just yet. But, it should be noted that West was without the services of Morgan Berry, a great player who's been out for over a month with a bad ankle. Add her back into the mix and, who knows? They could be dangerous come tournament time.

Also, remember the name Allie Stone from West Carter. She's only an 8th grader, but man, is she good. Already averaging 18 ppg and had 20 tonight at Russell.
