1. Knott County Central (3-1): The Patriot swent 2-1 last week in the WYMT Classic. They kicked things off by defeating Pike County Central 67-40 but they would fall in the very next game to Knox Central 74-57 in the semi-finals but would bounce back and defeat Clay County 68-57. Knott Central travels just down the road Friday to take on district foe, Cordia in a big district showdown. The Patriots will follow that up on Saturday by traveling to Pike Central to take on Belfry at 5:30 PM in the Buffalo Wild Wings Shootout.

2. Perry County Central (1-2): The Commodores split two games they had in the WYMT Mountain Classic. First, falling to Clay County in a barn burning game 75-73 but defeating district rival, Leslie County 71-47. Perry Central will host Leslie County, again, on Wednesday night. Perry Central travel to Pike Central to take on Ashland Blazer in the Buffalo Wild Wings Shootout.

3. Cordia (2-3): After starting the season off 0-3, the Cordia Lions have bounced back and won both of their previous two games, defeating Hazard 65-57 and Buckhorn 60-46 both on the road. The Lions will have two big home district games this week on back to back nights. Thursday night the Lions welcome in the Cougars of Letcher Central and on Friday night the Lions welcome in the Patriots of Knott Central.

4. Wolfe County (2-3): After going 2-1 and riding the hot shooting hand of Deven Stone, the Wolves have hit a snag, losing both of their games this week in the WYMT Classic. The Wolves got hammered by Knox Central 90-52 and then by Pike Central 60-40. Wolfe County travels up the road to Jackson to take on the Tigers of Jackson City on Tuesday and on Friday they host another district foe, Breathitt County in what will be two crucial games for the Wolves.

5. Estill County (1-4): Estill County got one in the win column last Tuesday night when they went on the road and defeated Rockcastle County thanks to senior guard, Caleb Bonny’s game winning heroics. However, the Engineers would fall in both games on Friday and Saturday, losing to Jackson County 51-46 on Friday night and Harlan County 63-58 on Saturday night, both in the PRTC Classic at Jackson County. The Engineers actually performed really well against Harlan County, who was thought to win by double digits. Could it be the start of a turn-around for the Engineers and get back on track as a region contender?

6. Breathitt County (3-2): The Bobcats won on back to back nights this week as they defeated Jackson City 65-52 and Hazard 76-64, both on the road. Junior guard, Kyle Fraley led the Bobcats with 18 in the win over Jackson City. Can the Bobcats keep up this good work this week, as they have three big games? Monday @Riverside Christian, Friday @ Wolfe County and Saturday @ Pike County Central.

7. Hazard (1-2): Hazard finally got the season started but on the wrong foot as they lost two of their first three games. Hazard opened the season with a loss to Cordia 65-57, a second loss came at the hands of Breathitt County 76-64 but the Bulldogs would get a W for the win column as they would defeat Barbourville 67-59. Hazard will look to keep the W’s coming this week as they host Lee County on Tuesday and Buckhorn on Thursday.

8. Powell County (2-1): The Pirates were just 5 points away from starting the season off 3-0 but a 57-53 loss to Paintsville but a halt on that theory. The Pirates will host Model on Tuesday, travel to Leslie County on Friday and host Rowan County on Saturday.

9. Leslie County (2-2): After starting the season off 2-0, the Eagles have since lost their last two games to even their record at 2-2. Leslie County lost to Floyd Central in a 60-59 heart breaking loss for the Eagles and then got hammered by Perry Central 71-47. Leslie County will face Perry Central again this week (Wednesday) and Powell County on Friday.

10. Buckhorn (2-3): Buckhorn is having trouble getting things going, as they went 1-1 last week with a loss to Cordia 60-46 but picked up win #2 as they cruised past Jackson City 62-39. It doesn’t get any easier for the Wildcats this week as they travel to Knox Central on Monday, travel to Hazard on Thursday and host Perry Central on Saturday.

11. Letcher County Central (1-3): Letcher Central picked up their first win on the season last week defeating Betsy Layne 61-43 but was punished for it by falling hard to Eastside VA 70-39. The bad thing for LCC is, they will host Eastside VA later on in the year on the Cougars own home floor.

12. Jackson City (3-3): After starting the season off 2-0, the Tigers have now gone 1-3 in their previous 4 games, which includes a 2 game losing streak.

13. Owsley County (4-1): The Owls seen their win streak snapped as they fell to Pineville 67-59 in the PRTC classic.

14. June Buchanan (1-4): June Buchanan has dropped two more games so far this season. Will the big long delay of games hurt them? Going from Dec. 5th to Dec. 16th without a game, is a long long time to go without playing a game.

15. Lee County (0-7): The Bobcats keep getting hammered this season. They’ve scored a total of 170 points so far but have game up nearly 600.

16. Riverside Christian (2-4): The Rams defeated KSFTD for the second time this season, unfortunately, that may be all the wins the Rams get.
