1. 6A: ScottCounty (6-2):

The Cardinals didn’t have a problem picking up another big win thispast week, defeating district opponent and newly opened school,Frederick Douglass 55-21. Scott County put up 566 total yards ofoffense. At this point, I don’t think theirs anyone in 6A that canstop their high powered offense.

Boyle Countyhas blown out every opponent they have faced other than Danville(10-7 loss), will it be another blow out win this week over Lex Cathor will the Knights keep it close and pull one out?

5. 3A:Lexington Catholic (4-3):

The Knights had their hands full with WanDale Robinson and WesternHills on Friday and even though WanDale Robinson put up 563 allpurpose yards, it still wasn’t enough to beat Lex Cath as theKnights would come out on top, 71-49.

6. 3A: WesternHills (5-2):

Western Hills fell to Lex Cath on Friday 71-49 behind WanDaleRobinson’s 563 all purpose yards. The wolverines must re-group asthey have two more big opponents in the next two weeks, GarrardCounty and Boyle County.

TEAMS ON THERISE:

3A: Powell County (3-4):After starting the season off 0-4, the Pirates have won 3 straight, all 3 being district games and are looking to do something they’venever done in school history, win a football district championship.Breathitt County and Morgan County stand in their way.

PLAYERSOF THE WEEK:

WanDale Robinson (JR RB Western Hills) had 563 all purpose yards inthe loss to Lexington Catholic on Friday. 276 rushing yards, 5 TD’s,caught 2 passes for 56 yards and a TD and returned a kickoff 96 yardsfor a TD. So far, he’s ran for 1,662 yards on 105 carries and 24TD’s,

Beau Allen (SO QB Lexington Catholic) through for 259 yards on 15/19passing and 4 TD’s in the win over Western Hills.

GAMESOF THE WEEK:

#5 Lexington Catholic at #4 Boyle County. This game will likelydetermine the district champion of 3A District 4. Let’s face it,Boyle County should win this by 2-3 TD’s as Catholic seems to notbe able to get over the hump in beating Boyle County but in sports, you never say never, upsets do happen, a lot.

Tates Creek at George Rogers Clark. In a game that sees a 5 win teambattle a 4 win team. This has the makings of a dandy and probablyshould be one unless something major happens.

Breathitt County at Powell County. This game will likely determinethe champion of 3A District 7. Both teams come into this gameundefeated in district play at 3-0. Breathitt County looking tore-claim it’s title while the Pirates are looking to win theirfirst football district championship in school history. Can thePirates get it done or will the first ever football districtchampionship elude them?

I would say that Boyle should be definitely be favored in the contest this week against LexCath.

But the comment of not able to get over hump is confusing. The only loss in the last 7 or 8 years that the Knights have had against Boyle was the 2013 regular season game.

In the Perry-Smith era that started in 2014 LexCath is 4 - 0.

90% of the teams in the State of Kentucky would have 3 loses with the schedule that Lexington Catholic has played this year. No shame in who they have lost to. I believe they are better than people think.

Boyle has struggled against the Knights and IMO it would not be a upset if Lexington Catholic was to come away with the win. I hope and believe this will be the year the Rebels get that monkey off their back but until that happens Lex Cath is the king between these two teams.
