Went from losing a hundred and three games last season to the playoffs this season.

How did they do it? Can their formula be duplicated? Was there just a "perfect storm" for them this year?

Hell, I said they were out of it on 9/22 -- just 6 days ago!

Really happy for them. We've got some close family friends who moved there from Kentucky in 1987, just in time for the first World Series. They've been fans ever since and I've kept closer tabs on them myself. Glad they made the postseason.

As for the formula, they weren't bad in 2015. Last year they lost their first nine games and that was the beginning of the end. I think this year was a little closer to what they expected in 2016. Mix in bad years in Detroit and injuries that killed Kansas City and there was an opening for berth. Minnesota took it.

Didn't they trade their 2 best players at the break and ended up with a winning record? If that's the case we don't have to worry about the Reds following that blueprint, Votto and Cozart will both retire Reds
