After a beating Gardner-Webb last Thursday the Cardinals drop a match at BC.

 

BOSTON, Mass. – The University of Louisville women's soccer team fell 2-0 at Boston College on Sunday afternoon. The Cardinals fall to 6-3-0, 0-1-0 ACC on the year while Boston College improves to 7-3-0, 1-0-0 ACC.

 

The game was played pretty even in the first half. A slide tackle outside the box was ruled against the Cardinals, giving the Eagles a free kick. Boston College's Sam Coffey was able to take advantage, kicking the ball into the upper right 90 for the goal and a 1-0 advantage.

 

Boston College finished the first half with a 5-3 shot advantage and a 4-1 corner kick advantage. Louisville keeper Gabby Kouzelos finished with one save while BC's Alexis Bryant also finished with a save.

 

At the start of the second half, the Eagles took early possession. Kouzelos kept the Cards within striking distance, making three straight saves in a span of a minute. Louisville then gained possession and Alison Price took the first shot on goal of the half in the 57th minute.

 

Louisville continued to press for the equalizer. Emina Ekic had a shot on goal in the 74th minute. The Cardinals kept most of possession until the 86th minute when the Eagles struck again to take a 2-0 lead. The Cards continued to press but were only able to get off one shot from Price in the final minutes.

 

The Cardinals finished the match with a 12-10 shot advantage. Boston College edged Louisville 7-6 in corner kicks. Bryant finished with three saves while Kouzelos finished with four saves.
