The team was notified this afternoon that Coach Collins has resigned. Cooper returns a lot of talent, should be an attractive job.

That's in interesting spot to have come open. Seems like a really good gig.

I know there was frustration from parents about the direction of the program. Some frosh and JV coaches have exited over the last few years after differences with Collins.

Hope the current JV coach gets the job.

A little birdie on the wall said he told his players, "I'm tired of dealing with your parents." No idea if that's true or not.

Check out what the man had to deal with in the 9th region tournament last season. No one should have to put up with that garbage. It is a shame parents have to ruin sports.

A lot of coaches(especially old school guys) are retiring early and younger guys that are thrown into coaching with no experience are quitting as well. If you've never seen how parents behave or have never seen a positive way of dealing with parents, then you will be overwhelmed as a head coach. They will soon take over a program if you don't know what you are doing. Transparency and accountability are your only ways of dealing properly with parents.

Who are some candidates for this job? With Schools already in session will that limit the pool of names?

Maybe some of the ones that were mentioned during BW opening...Curley? That would be a nice class to start out with...some of the top pitchers in the area coming back...1-3 are solid.
