Cubs trading for Justin Verlander and Alex Avila?

Recommended Posts

Chicago has inquired about Detroit's Ace Justin Verlander and Catcher Alex Avila. The Cubs need a strong pitcher/Ace for the second half of the season if they wanna try and repeat as World Champs or even make it to the playoffs for that matter and not to mention, both John Lackey and Jake Arrieta are both free agents after this season. Of Course, Chicago would have to give up some type of prospects back in order to make this work. Ian Happ? Javy Baez? Both? Both + More? Also the only other thing that would hold up any Verlander deal is his contract.

Most of this is my own words but I did get some of it from ESPN.

Real or not? It's time to trade Justin Verlander, Freddie Freeman is a third baseman - SweetSpot- ESPN

Tigers are wanting a HUGE haul for Verlander, the likes of which Theo will never pay, nor should he. They want a "big, big, big return" with no salary offset according to Buster Olney.

Be nice to see more of Kate Upton, than what I do now that he's still a Tiger
