Thad Matta Retiring??

He and OSU AD Gene Smith are holding a joint presser at 2pm this afternoon.

Speculation on Twitter is that he's either a) retiring immediately or b) announcing that he's retiring after this coming season.

Didn't realize he's only 49 years old.

Not overly surprised. It has been tough at tOSU the past few years. Hasn't he had some health problems as well? Time to enjoy some of that money he's made.

Thought he was older than that myself. Usually coaches are just hitting their stride at 49. I think I had also read that he was having health problems.

Thad just wasn't able to recruit at a high enough level these past few years. He did a lot of good for the program though.
