How Long Can the Reds Stay Over .500?

Recommended Posts

Some considerations:

Reds have 22 of their first 34 at Home thru May 9

Reds then go on the Road for 15 of the next 20 thru May 31

Reds get 16 of the next 28 at Home from June 1 thru July 2

Reds have the next 7 on the Road before the All-Star break.

Sooooooooooooooooo.........how long can the Reds stay over .500???

The lineup is solid and will be solid. Can the bullpen maintain? Starting pitching is going to be the big question mark on their success.

If all the starters get healthy the bullpen will have some electric guys in it.

When you consider the Reds top two starting pitchers are on the DL, this start is amazing. If they can stay at .500 till they get Desclafani and Bailey back ... who knows? Are the Reds capable of finishing this season over .500?

Bailey could be one of the Reds top two starting pitchers, but I'm not buying it. Dig up all the numbers on him you want but some are real bad, To begin with, he can't stay healthy, throws his fastball at 95mph as straight as the arrow on his fore arm, with no movement at all. Then add in even the slowest runners steal steal him blind and not a very good pick off move for obvious reasons. Other than that, he's perfect.

Yet he's thrown 2 no hitters. Amazing considering you believe he has no stuff.
