winterweather
Will be interesting to see what develops here. I would expect an attempt at big splash hire.

winterweather
I think it worked fine. They do have a solid in house candidate in former Casey co coach Sam Marple

winterweather
Heard Taylor has hired a coach not sure how realible that info is. Heard an offer was extended. Would be a big splash (and a very good) hire if the name I heard is correct.
Nathaniel Bryan
Marple would be a solid choice. Not a splash, but a quality coach. But do the Taylor boosters have enough to lure Perry Thomas away from Campbellsville or Richard Owens (played at Louisville then NFL) away from South Alabama? Because unless Taylor is vastly different from the Hardins -- which top out at 10K or 20K for football head coaching stipend last time I checked -- that's one heck of a reach. And if it's the boosters footing the bill, it's more about the men with the money than the allure of a prep program with not many successful seasons (albeit Green River Lake is awesome in the summer). Don't think ANY hire TCHS makes is going to make the rest of its district and/or class go, "Uh oh. There's a new big man on campus. We're in trouble." They just saved over 120K a year with Dudley leaving, they should be able to buy their next coach just like they did the last one.

plantmanky
Well, when you put it that way ... You know as well as I do there is a lot of green flowing through Taylor Co, and its not because of the river either.
Biscuiteater
I'm not sure how much "green" is flowing through Taylor these days. Cox Interior is a good business, but doesn't affect that many people. Amazon is huge, but the jobs are mostly low pay. Most of the rest are farmers or small business people.
