Sheldon Clark High School Changing Names?

I heard that Sheldon Clark High School has a new name. Is that true?

What's the new name?

I'm guessing it will change to Martin County High School. There's been talk about it for years. Their football endzone says MARTIN COUNTY.

There isn't a ton of precedent for something like this. A few years ago, after building a new building, Deming High School was changed to Robertson County High School. It appears that the same thing is happening in Martin County. There are no other examples of single-high school counties in Kentucky not having the county name in the school title.

Will they change the mascot or anything? Did Bishop Brossart change anything when they changed from St Mary's? Also cost a lot to replace everything that says Sheldon Clark on it.

His momma named him Sheldon Clark I'm going to call him Sheldon Clark.

Deming's was named after the people who gave the school the land to build it on. It was only changed when they built the new school at a different location.

I'm kinda surprised by this to be honest. Mainly as someone else mentioned about the money it will cost for the name change. To my knowledge that school district is barely making it financially as it is.

I wish more of the county schools would go the other way. For example I want Adair county to be John Adair hs. Casey county to be William Casey. Knox county to Henry Knox HS etc... The people the county is named after.
