The Lighting committed 2 penalties within a minute of each other giving the Islanders a 3 minute power play, one of which was 5 on 3. Andrei Vasilevskiy was amazing during that stretch. He ended up stopping 34 of 34 shots on goal for the game.

Final: Lightning 4 Islanders 0

The Bolts found out yesterday that Steven Stamkos suffered a torn lateral meniscus in his right knee during the 4-3 win over Detroit, Tuesday night. He could be out one to three months depending on whether he and the Lightning decide to reshape the meniscus, as Ben Roethlisberger had done, or repair it.

6:32 to go in the 3rd period. Flyers up 2-1. Alex Kilorn scores on a power play to tie the game. 12 seconds later, Ryan Callahan shoots one by Steve Mason to give the Lightning a 3-2 lead. Nikita Kucherov scored his first goal ever against Philadelphia later to give Tampa Bay a 4-2 win.

The Columbus Blue Jackets now are the only team in the NHL that Kuch has not score at least one goal against.

Joel Ward with a short handed goal and Logan Couture with a rare 4 on 3 power play goal leads the Sharks over the Blackhawks 2-1.

It could have been worse, but Cory Crawford kept Chicago in the game with some amazing saves during Shark power plays late in the game.

Talk about "What have you done for me lately?"

Gerald Gallant coached the Florida Panthers to a 25 point improvement in his first season as head coach and set a franchise record for wins in winning the Atlantic Division last season. While they have gotten off to a rough start this season, the Panthers are 11-10-1 and only 2 points out of the Wild Card race. Lots of hockey left to be played.

He was fired after a 3-2 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes, yesterday.

Saw on Sportscenter this morning where they left him standing on the side of the road with all his belongings.

The Bolts drop their 3rd straight, 5-1 at Columbus. It was the second loss to the Blue Jackets in 5 days.

Columbus is now tied with Washington by points, but Washington's win total keeps them in 3rd place in the Metropolitan Division. Columbus is 1st in as a wild card.
