1. Trinity (10-0) – Trinity finished the regular season with a perfect record and enters the playoffs as the 6A favorite so will rightly retain the number 1 rank. Next week is Ohio Co.

2. St. Xavier (7-3) – Louisville St. X received a reminder of why Southern Ohio football is held in such regard after taking a 28-3 loss. Due to the loss being from a national powerhouse, X will retain the #2 position. Next week is Muhlenberg Co.

3. – Male (8-2) – No surprise in Male’s 41-6 win over Western. Next week is Daviess Co..

4. Dupont Manual (8-2) – Manual finishes off their successful regular season with a win over Eastern 34-13. Next week is Henderson Co..

5. Christian Academy of Louisville (9-1) – Another CAL game, another victory over another over matched opponent in Franklin Co. 44-7. Next week versus Greene County should be about the same.

6. St. Francis DeSales (8-2) – DeSales defeats over matched Southern 41-0. They open the playoffs versus Monroe Co. which DeSales should handle easily.

7. Pleasure Ridge Park (6-4) – While their record doesn’t show it, this was a great season for PRP, especially with such a convincing 42-3 win over Central. The Panthers take on McCracken County next week.

8. Bardstown (9-1) – Bardstown defeats Allen Co – Scottsville 46-22 and looks forward to Western Hills to open up the playoffs.

9. Ballard (7-3) – Ballard finishes the regular season with a victory versus Doss, 31-20. Next week is Meade Co.

10. South Oldham (9-1) – A close one last week and now a loss by the Dragons. Can South regroup in time to match Woodford Co?

Honorable Mention -

Fern Creek (8-2) – The Tigers had an off week but take on Grant Co. Next week.

Teams on the Rise PRP end the regular season with great improvement over last season.

Teams on the DeclineSouth Oldham was playing great football till the past two weeks.

Featured Game of the Week – Honestly, none of the first round match ups garner a lot of interest outside of the fan bases of the teams involved.

Not being on fall break this week I believe South Oldham will be a little more focused and ready for Woodford. SO continues to score just fine. If it wasn't for a blocked XP (first of the year) and a dropped 2 pt conversion we would be talking about them going undefeated (no excuses meant - Shelby won and good on them). For some reason the defense is giving up a few big plays the last couple weeks. Coaches will need to tighten that up for South to make a run.
