Colonels_Wear_Blue
The "Brushes with fame..." thread got me thinking about what movies have either been filmed in Kentucky, or are being filmed in Kentucky. Seemed like a somewhat interesting thread topic. Just for the helluvit, if anyone can think of movies with scenes that supposedly take place in Kentucky, go ahead and list those here too. Colonels_Wear_Blue
Here's what I could think of offhand... Seabiscuit had several racing sequences shot at Keeneland. Ides of March had several scenes shot around Covington, Newport and Bellevue. Goldfinger was shot largely at Fort Knox. Elizabethtown was shot principally in E-town and Louisville. Rain Man had scenes shot in Newport (Pasquales) and Melbourne - the shot for the movie poster was taken out front of St. Anne's Convent in Melbourne. The Insider was shot partially in Louisville. tcjkbt
There's one being shot in Louisville with Nicholas Cage and Selma Blair. There was in the 50's or 60's, I believe, with Elizabeth Taylor that had some Kentucky scenes.
