Holmes......15-18-22-10---65

NewCath....05-07-13-14---39

Not a good night on the "hill" for the Breds tonight, as the Holmes Bulldogs ran rough-shot over the Breds. NewCath's Ajia Rice picks up two quick fouls in the 1st 40 seconds of the game, and from there the Breds were never in this one. The Dawgs start the game on a 8-0 run, and have a 15-5 advantage after one quarter. The Breds get it down to 7pts. early in the 2nd stanza, but it would go south from there, as the Holmes lead balloons to a 33-12 halftime score.

Quarter #3 saw much the same as the Breds couldn't hit the "ocean from the beach" and the Dawgs runnin' wild, and the lead increase to 30pts at the close of the 3rd, 55-25. With about 5:25 left in the game and the Dawgs up 32 NewCath pulls its starters, and much to the chagrin of the NewCath faithful, Holmes plays 4 of its 5 starters for another minute and a half. The NewCath subs to a great job as Holmes goes scoreless the final 4 and a half minutes of the ballgame.

NewCath handled the Holmes pressure alright, but couldn't hit a shot to save their lives.

VERY impressed with this Holmes team, very quick all-around, great guard play, do a great job passing, and ABSOLUTELY dominate on the glass, especially the offensive glass. You can not let this team get extra shots or you will pay.

Breds return to action on Friday at home against St. Henry.

You saw Murray last week. Who do you think would win between the two LB?

Both teams have superior guard play and move the ball well. I would give the edge to Murray simply because of height and bench scoring. Alexis Burpo and Maddie Waldrop can clean the glass.

I know one thing, it would be a fun game to see.

In the equivalent of 3 games (minutes played) during the All A State, Burpo & Waldrop combined for 75 rebounds, 49 defensive.

Team totals for 4 games

130 total rebs.

90 def. rebs.

58 assist

46 steals

25 blocks

Now that I have seen Holmes play they are the best team in the 9th. Holmes quickness is something to see if you have not watched them play yet. I would say its their region to lose, whoever plays them will either have to play very, very well or Holmes beats themselves.
