2. Odd Year, Odd Hosts

This is the prevailing theme, since it is 2015 it is the "Odd" District and Region's year for hosting...more on that

3. The Framework

Round 1: The Higher Seed ALWAYS Hosts. This round will always have a team seeded higher than the other.

Round 2: The Higher Seed ALWAYS Hosts. This round will always have a team seeded higher than the other.

Round 3 (Regional Finals): The Higher Seed ALWAYS Hosts. This Round though can have two teams with the exact same seed. In this Event the team from the ODD NUMBERED DISTRICT hosts

Round 4 (Semi-Finals): Seeding DOES NOT MATTER. The team from the ODD NUMBERED REGION ALWAYS Hosts. The Region 1 winner Hosts the Region 2 Winner in the West, and the Region 3 Winner Hosts the Region 4 winner in the East. District DOES NOT matter, it is only about which Region you Fall Under.

Region 1= District 1 & 2

Region 2= District 3 & 4

Region 3= District 5 & 6

Region 4= District 7 & 8

- Examples:

Round 1: #2 Seed District 7 vs. #3 Seed District 8

The #2 Seed Hosts Because They Have The Higher Seed

Round 2: # 2 Seed District 1 vs. #1 Seed District 2

The #1 Seed Hosts Because They Have The Higher Seed

Round 2: # 4 Seed District 3 vs. #2 Seed District 3

Even though the 4 Seed has defeated a #1 Seed, the #2 Seed Hosts Because They Are The Higher Seed

Round 3: #2 Seed District 4 vs. #1 Seed District 4

Even Though the #2 Seed Defeated the #1 Seed of the Odd District, #1 Seed District 4 Hosts Because They Are The Higher Seed

Round 3: #2 Seed District 8 vs. #3 Seed District 1

The #2 Seed would Host Because They Are The Higher Seed, The Fact They Are From An Even District Does Not Matter Because Seeding Reigns Supreme

Round 3: #1 Seed District 5 vs. #1 Seed District 6

The #1 Seed District 5 Hosts Because the Seeds Are The Same, But Odd District Hosts

Round 4: #1 Seed District 5 vs. #1 Seed District 8

#1 Seed District 5 Hosts Because They Are Region 3 and District 8 is Region 4. Odd Region Hosts Regardless of Seed

Round 4: #4 Seed District 1 vs. #1 Seed District 4

#4 Seed District 1 Hosts Because They Are Region 1 and District 4 is Region 2. Odd Regions Hosts Regardless of Seed

Round 4: #2 Seed District 6 vs. #1 Seed District 7

#2 Seed District 6 Hosts Because They Are Region 3 and District 7 is Region 2. Odd Regions Host Regardless of Seed. Seeding Does Not Matter, no does whether the District Number is Odd or Even in This Case.

Yes, at least for this year. Discussion that it could return for both 5A and 6A in the future.

Thanks.

Follow up question. I see in the list above that two 6A districts have 3 teams and two 6A districts have 5. Do the fifth place teams play against the one seeds in the 3-team districts?

Notice that Male will be home team throughout if they continue to win. What are the chances their field will be playable throughout much of Nov? Would they ever consider a more playable alternate site? Probably many other similar situations with sparsely grass fields around the state

Same with Cooper, oh the tears that will be cried if teams have to come to the "worst field in NKY". Waiting for the that won't happen comments, though completely unrelated.

But isn't that why it's called home field advantage? What better place to play your game than the field you practice on and are familiar with?

Male would not host a semi state game. Male is in Region 2. Region 1 will host.

Correct. This season SK plays Butler at SK, and Cooper plays Seneca at Cooper

Nope.

Seneca @ SK and Butler @ Cooper

Class 6A

District 1 – Daviess County, Henderson County, McCracken County, Muhlenberg County, Ohio County

District 2 – Central Hardin, Meade County, North Hardin

District 3 – Butler, DuPont Manual, Male, Pleasure Ridge Park, St. Xavier

District 4 – Ballard, Eastern, Jeffersontown, Seneca, Trinity (Louisville)

District 5 – Conner, Cooper, Ryle

District 6 – Boone County, Campbell County, Simon Kenton

District 7 – Bryan Station, Henry Clay, Paul Laurence Dunbar, Scott County

District 8 – George Rogers Clark, Lafayette, Madison Central, Tates Creek

5th place from District 1 as the 4th place in District 2 for playoff brackets.

5th place from 3 would become the 4th place in 5 for playoffs in odd numbered years

5th place from 3 would become the 4th place in 6 for playoffs in even numbered years.

5th place from 4 would become the 4th place in 6 for playoffs in odd numbered years

5th place from 4 would become the 4th place in 5 for playoffs in even numbered years.
