lawildcat
I'm confused. This is a public school, right?!
75center
No problem with the Islamic Chanting, it is a prayer although if you're going to have a prayer you might as well go with one the most people can identify with. Don't understand the purpose of the professor and the bible. Seems like an unusual topic for a graduation ceremony.

PurplePride92
It was at their Baccalaureate last night. The valedictorian recited their prayer in Arabic. Christian prayers were said throughout the evening. No big deal but by all means don't let that stop the intolerance.

Wireman
For the record, it's not a big deal to me. I am just pointing out that some people are really upset. I thought it would be a good discussion topic for BGP
UKMustangFan
I don't see an issue as long as there wasn't a censorship of other prayers, which PP92 seems to indicate there wasn't. It does seem odd that the speaker would attack the bible in his talk, but nothing to get up in arms about IMO.

TheDeuce
It's okay to pray as long as you're doing it the same way everyone else in the room is doing it...

Beechwoodfan
I didn't think public schools were supposed to have prayer of any kind.
