thsrocks
Male comes to Marshall Stadium as the heavy favorite to knock off the Rocks. The Bulldogs are ranked higher by BluegrassPreps.com (Male is #1 and Trinity is #4), have a better rating in MaxPreps, Litkenhous, & Cantrall and more votes in the AP this week. The Bulldogs’ Davis Mattingly is the best performing QB in Jefferson County this year. Mattingly has thrown for nearly 1400 yards and 22 touchdowns while completing 100 of 162 attempts. Mattingly has thrown four interceptions. Male has the most highly touted receiver in Keion Wakefield. Wakefield has 24 receptions for 406 yards and 8 touchdowns. Ellis Cain is a high octane running back who has combined with Devin Gentry for more than 800 yards rushing and 7 touchdowns. Male is crushing their opponents by an average of 42 to 8. Their closest contests were 17-0 over Meade County and last week’s 30-13 victory versus St. Xavier. The Bulldogs defense has allowed just over 800 yards of offense in their 7 contests. Despite the loss of their number one defensive stalwart, Marcus Davis, Male is playing suffocating defense. The defensive end is out for the season with an injured knee after appearing in only two games. When you review the prolific offensive statistics and take into consideration the loss of three Trinity starting defensive backs, one can only surmise a Bulldogs romp this Friday evening. Fortunately, these games aren’t played on paper. Coach Beatty stated he has been looking forward to this game since last year. If he can convey a sense of urgency to his staff and players, then Trinity has the ability to make it a competitive contest.

PurplePride92
I believe I saw Wakefield at the Campbellsville/Georgetown game last week. I'm guessing he was visiting Campbellsville since it was at Campbellsville.
PurplePride92
The sandbagging is strong in you, young Paduwan. Maybe, but I believe every word of it. Male appears to be the better team at this point in the season. Especially after last Friday when they dominated a St. X team that one could say dominated Trinity. rockmom
I would agree with thsrocks. No shame in it for the Rocks. Male just seems to be a really great team this year.
Riverside 157
I really don't think there is any question that this Male team has what it takes to get the job done. However, I anticipate that Beatty will work his magic and the Rocks will score early, take advantage of opportunities and come out on top with a 23 - 21 victory..... Seen it happen too many times......
PurplePride92
How about this statement: It would be great for 6A if Trinity won this game against Male.
Riverside 157
Why would it be great for 6A ????? Please explain . . .
ShamrockChamps
I think right now there are legitimately 5 teams that could win 6A, the Super District teams and Scott County. Now if Male wins big against T & big against Manual, my thinking will probably change on this, still a lot to be played for, gonna be fun watching how it all plays out! PepRock01
Why would it be great for 6A ????? Please explain . . . I think his thought process is that it would show 6A to be more competitive than just a 1 horse race.

PurplePride92
Why would it be great for 6A ????? Please explain . . . Simple. If Male wins this game just cancel the 6A playoffs and send the trophy to Male. It'll save us time and money.

Riverside 157
Somewhere along the line of games in the next few weeks, one or two teams are going to really pick up their games. Everyone has the potential, just who is going to rise to the occasion????

Everyone has the potential, just who is going to rise to the occasion???? Exactly and if Trinity beats Male on Friday I bet a lot of teams pick up their games exponentially. When was the last time that was the case?
